By Teanir Yusuf 1. Tell me about yourself. When did you come to PVS? My name is Zaynab Ali and I came to PVS in 6th grade after living in Kenya for a couple years. 2. How has attending a Muslim private school shaped your identity and values? Prior to joining PVS, I was always taught with good morals and Islamic knowledge from family, however this school has really solidified why I continue to learn more and more about not only Islam but education as a whole. 3. What are your future goals, and how do you see yourself achieving them? My future goals in life are to somehow try to repay my parents (impossible, I know) for everything they have done and sacrificed for my family and I In Shaa Allah. My parents are the main reason I am the way I am today so letting them know that I truly care for them is one of the most important things to me. 4. If you could pick any quranic verse, hadith, or quote that could describe your experience at PVS what would it be and why سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَيْكُم بِمَا صَبَرْتُمْ ۚ فَنِعْمَ عُقْبَى ٱلدَّار Peace be upon you for what you have been patient for, excellence indeed is the final abode [13:24]
Although throughout the years school has been tough at times, when you are patient and honestly have tawakkul (pure trust) in Allah then everything after will come easy for you and Alhamdullilah it is true. 5. What advice do you have for the underclassmen? The advice I would like to give the underclassmen is to try and find a balance between really focusing on your studies while also cherishing the memories you’ll be having with your friends and teachers you really enjoy being around. It is a bit difficult to do so since you don’t know if you’re studying too much or too little or not hanging out with your friends enough or hanging out too much, but I truly believe that you as an individual need to determine that for yourself. 6. What is the worst and best thing about being a senior? The worst thing and best thing for me are really the same. The worst would be leaving and the best is also leaving. This is because although PVS does have it’s ups and down, I really do call it my home and genuinely cherish all the memories I’ve made here. The best is also leaving because it will open a new chapter for me in the future that I’m really excited about In Shaa Allah. Altogether, I have deeply enjoyed the time I’ve had here at PVS and wouldn’t trade it for any other school Comments are closed.
