By Teanir Yusuf 1. Tell me about yourself. When did you come to PVS?
Born in New York, I grew up in Palestine before returning to the United States in 2020. In 2021, I joined PVS as a freshman in high school. 2. How has attending a Muslim private school shaped your identity and values? Attending a Muslim private school shaped my identity by strengthening my connection to Islam and its values. Being around people who share the same faith can build confidence and a sense of belonging. It also helped me understand my roots while balancing my faith with the world around me. 3. What are your future goals, and how do you see yourself achieving them? My future goal is to build a career in mechanical engineering. 4. What advice do you have for the underclassmen? "And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided." (Qur'an 3:103) This verse shows the unity and community I felt at PVS. The school taught us to support each other, stay connected to our faith, and grow both academically and spiritually. It reminds me to stay focused on Islam and value teamwork. 5. What advice do you have for the underclassmen? My advice is to do your best this year because next year you'll start applying to colleges, and you can’t go back to fix anything from this year. Stay focused, keep up with your work, and don’t skip class just to go eat Taco Bell. 6. What is the worst and best thing about being a senior? The best part is the freedom, but the worst part is handling college applications, preparing to go off on your own, and leaving behind so many memories at PVS Comments are closed.
