By Teanir Yusuf 1. Tell me about yourself. When did you come to PVS?
I moved from Atlanta to Memphis and joined PVS in 5th grade, so this is my 8th year here. 2. How has attending a Muslim private school shaped your identity and values? Being at PVS has shaped who I am as a person. The community and environment have had a significant impact on my growth, and interacting with fellow muslims daily has helped strengthen my faith as i feel like i can look up to my teachers and my peers as role models 3. What are your future goals, and how do you see yourself achieving them? My goal is to somehow benefit the community that has raised me, insha’Allah. I hope to contribute in ways that give back to others, especially to the community that has supported me through my journey at PVS. 4. If you could pick any quranic verse, hadith, or quote that could describe your experience at PVS, what would it be and why? A verse that resonates with me is: "Indeed, with hardship comes ease." — Surah Ash-Sharh (94:6). This verse reflects the challenges I've faced over the years and how, despite the difficulties, the ease and growth have followed. 5. What advice do you have for the underclassmen? Take this time in high school to really establish who you are as a person. Take up hobbies, develop your beliefs, and grow a backbone. It’s easy to get caught up in what everyone else is doing but being able to stand on your own is essential to surviving highschool. 6. What is the worst and best thing about being a senior? The worst part of being a senior is knowing that I won’t be going to school with the friends I’ve had for almost a decade. It’s hard to leave behind people who have been such a big part of my life. The best part is that I feel ready to move on. I’m excited to enter this new chapter of my life and see what the future holds. Comments are closed.
