Parent Appreciation Dinner 2024

The Parent Appreciation event on October 26th was held to honor parents' essential role in students' lives and express their gratitude for their support and sacrifices. This event encouraged 11th grade students to reflect on the love and care their parents provide by writing heartfelt letters of appreciation. It serves as an opportunity for them to give back and acknowledge our parents' guidance throughout our lives. The funds raised through barbecues and bake sales was used to create a warm and welcoming environment with food and decorations. Together, the students celebrated their parents’s unique and irreplaceable contributions in a meaningful way.

One parent got emotional and said, “I couldn’t stop crying after I heard my kid's letter. I didn’t realize how much they cared about the little things I do every day. It was just so overwhelming to know they noticed all of that.” Hearing this helped the students realize how powerful the simple act of writing can be and how much it can mean to their parents. It shows that sometimes they don’t always express enough of what they feel. Another parent said, “I never knew my kid felt this way. I've never heard them speak this way and talk about these things so deeply, so hearing my kid say this out loud was a big surprise to me, a good  surprise." This comment resonated deeply with the 11th graders because it reminded them that even though they may think parents know how much they are appreciated, the students should still say it in a deeper way for them to truly understand. This event had given them all a chance to do that.
